Built on the San Telmo rasa, between the towns of Colunga and Lastres, the MUJA is located at a strategic point on the Dinosaur Coast.

The building essentially consists of three large areas, each of which is dedicated to one of the geological periods into which the MESOZOIC is divided: Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaphic.

Throughout the tour of the exhibition, in which the common thread is time, extensive information is provided on the different aspects of the life of dinosaurs, a particular group of land reptiles that appeared some 230 million years ago, mostly becoming extinct 65 million years ago.

The set is complemented by three more modules: one dedicated to explaining the geological history of the JURÁSICO DE ASTURIAS and its fossil sites, and the remaining two to various aspects of life and terrestrial ecosystems in the stages before and after the age of the dinosaurs.
